LV Mains Distribution Switchgear Panels

LV mains distribution switchgear panels are designed for safe and reliable power distribution in buildings, equipped with protective devices like circuit breakers and fuses. Constructed from robust 2mm steel, these modular panels can be customized for features such as surge protection and power monitoring. Regular maintenance, including inspections and servicing every five years, is crucial for ensuring functionality. Power Continuity offers comprehensive services including thermal imaging inspections and high-voltage testing. Various panel configurations are available to meet specific building needs.

LV Mains Distribution Switchgear Panels

LV (low voltage) mains distribution switch gear panels are electrical enclosures that are used to distribute electrical power from the main supply to various electrical loads and circuits within a building or facility. These LV Switch gear panels are typically installed close to the loads they are serving, such as lighting fixtures, HVAC systems, or machinery.

LV mains distribution panels are equipped with a variety of protective devices, such as circuit breakers, fuses, and switches, to ensure the safety and reliability of the electrical system. They are also designed to provide easy access for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. If your site is upgrading solar-PV systems then electrical design changes will need to be made in your LV main panel.

LV Switchgear distribution boards consist of an extensible cubicle constructed switchboard which is all welded 2mm sheet metal framework designed and manufactured by Power Continuity engineers for reliability, strength and quality build. These completely modular internal assemblies are designed to allow for increased flexibility and are also manufactured from 2mm thick steel for strength and endurance. Most LV panels are backed up by an emergency generator system.

Benefits of our LV Mains Panels

What are the Benefits of Diesel Fuel PLV mains distribution boards play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable distribution of electrical power throughout a building or facility. They are designed to meet strict safety standards and regulations, and are tested to ensure that they can withstand the rigors of daily use. LV mains distribution boards are available in a variety of sizes and configurations to accommodate the needs of different types of buildings and facilities.

They can be customised to include additional features, such as surge protection, voltage regulation, and power monitoring. By selecting the right LV mains distribution board and components, building owners and facility managers can ensure that their electrical system is reliable, efficient, and safe for years to come.

All our cubicle compartments are accessed via hinged lockable doors, which are also manufactured from 2mm thick sheet steel complete with double returned edges and neoprene gaskets for strength and quality. All MCCB and fuse switch compartments have door interlocked rotary handles, which are lockable in the Off position. All our bus bar chambers and cable ways are accessed via bolt-on covers.

Maintaining a LV Mains Panels

LV panels all contain ACB and MCCB breakers. there is a legal obligation to service these every five years. Power Continuity carries out service and maintenance on site, in hours and out of hours for all makes of ACB and MCCB breakers.

Since a build-up of dust on the locking surfaces can affect the operation of the circuit breaker, molded case circuit breakers should be exercised at least once a year. Also, look for any signs of arcing or overheating (which may indicate breaker problems), bent or broken linkages, and dust and debris.

We recommend a thermal imaging inspection and survey annually for all mains LV panels and associated cabling. This can all be carried out by Power Continuity engineers without any disruption to your site. We provide a digital report together with images showing hot spots which are an indication in advance of a possible failure. That allows our maintenance engineers to fix and repair before an issue occurs. See this video:

We have the Capability of testing the actual board rather than relying on calculations from isolated tests. Functional tests of 100% rated systems in high integrity and onerous environments. Power Continuity can design and build boards and switch panels up to 7000 A.

We also provide a complete range of special testing including HV testing up to 33KV, G59 Parallel Testing, current injection testing, power factor testing, static transfer switch oscilloscope testing, thermal heat house testing.

Need a PDU? Need a PDU with a static switch? Need a PDU with isolating transformer? Need a PDU -complete panel board with integral mains distribution boards?
