Major UK Power Station UPS Upgrade Completed

We are proud to have successfully delivered a major critical UPS replacement project at RWE Staythorpe Power Station in Newark, one of the UK’s key power generation facilities.

RWE required the complete replacement of its ageing UPS infrastructure with a brand-new, fully resilient, no-break UPS system capable of supporting critical on-site control systems for the next 25 years. The project demanded a solution designed entirely from scratch, installed on a live power station site, while maintaining full resilience throughout the works.

Following a rigorous tender process, we were selected to deliver the full scope of the project — from system design and build through to installation and commissioning. During the upgrade, we installed nearly two kilometres of temporary cabling across the site to support our containerised UPS system, ensuring uninterrupted, resilient power protection while the existing systems were replaced.

Working closely with RWE’s management team, we met their exacting safety and quality standards at every stage of the project. The installation began in October 2024 and was completed on time and within budget in December 2025.

RWE praised our performance, noting that we exceeded expectations by following their high-standard guidelines flawlessly and delivering the project exactly as planned
