Power Continuity

How to ensure Voltage Stability

Mains power is not completely stable, leading to fluctuations, power surges, and brownouts that can harm equipment and disrupt operations. Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) mitigate these issues by providing a stable voltage output. For clean loads like IT rooms, a static battery UPS suffices, but for whole buildings, a rotary flywheel UPS is recommended, particularly for industrial uses. Additional information on rotary UPS systems is available. Contact details for assistance regarding fluctuating voltage systems are also provided.

Mains power (as well as generator power) is not totally constant and fluctuates constantly. For most of the time, these fluctuations are within the acceptable range, but from time to time, the voltage fluctuations are greater than the tolerated range and you get power surges or brownouts. This can lead to problems with your equipment and expensive downtime of your operations.

Uninterruptible power supplies protect your equipment by providing a much more constant voltage output. For clean loads such as IT comms rooms, a static battery UPS is sufficient. However to protect an entire building use a rotary flywheel UPS,(in particular industrial businesses). Therefore providing uninterruptible power.
